Situated in Gosforth,
Northumberland Record Office holds some of the region’s most important documents and manuscripts. Now home to the music manuscript collection, formerly held at the Black Gate Museum, the archives also hold some of the country’s earliest and rarest tune books. In particular FARNE has been lucky enought to digitise the Henry Atkinson manuscript tune book, dating to 1694.
