A Roman Die from the Archaeology Collections of Tyne and Wear Musuems<p>
A Roman Die from the Archaeology Collections of Tyne and Wear Musuems

The Sense of Place North East Consortium is a collection of projects which are digitising images, objects, documents and sounds from and about the North East of England. The partners in the Sense of Place North East are: Gateshead Council, Newcastle upon Tyne City Council, Northumberland County Council, and Tyne & Wear Museums.

Sense of Place North East will provide a fascinating and valuable set of resources about the culture, history, nature, heritage and people of the North East of England - past and present.

These projects have been funded through the New Opportunities Fund’s ground-breaking £50 million UK-wide digitisation programme which is designed to enable the learning materials and resources currently contained in galleries, communities, libraries, museums, universities and other centres of excellence, to be directly accessible to homes and communities via the internet. The Fund is the biggest of the National Lottery good cause distributors.
